Description

There are numerous factors that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a thriving pond ecosystem. Numerous forces operate in nature to help renew and clean water while also providing nutrients to fish and plants. In contrast to a natural stream or river, which can regenerate itself on a continuous basis, a pond is a completely closed system. This essentially means that nothing enters or exits independently. Maintaining a pond as a hobby entails imitating the natural forces found in nature in order to create a balanced pond ecosystem. Healthy fish, clear water, thriving plants, and a lack of pests such as algae are all indicators of a well-balanced pond.
