While Elliaey is not home to an eccentric billionaire or a musical legend, it is a birder’s paradise. Along with the numerous puffins that call Elliaey home, the island is a major nesting area for storm petrels and other seabirds.
As a result, it is designated as a nature reserve and protected area. While tour companies based on the Vestmannaejar peninsula offer day trips to this stunning, wild location, the little white house and the rest of the island remain uninhabited for the time being.
