Trees and Climate Change: Carbon Reduction Capabilities

Description

I created this art to thank trees; as trees grow, they contribute to the absorption and sequestering of carbon that would otherwise contribute to global warming. Trees (like with all other plants) rely on solar energy to perform photosynthesis – a process in which carbon dioxide and water are combined to make energy (glucose) for their cells. Finally, trees self-feed with the carbon we so need to avoid reaching the atmosphere.
Along with capturing carbon dioxide, trees assist the soil in capturing and storing carbon.
