Pollination and Pollution

Description

Pollination isn’t just a fascinating natural phenomenon. It is a vital ecological function. Nearly 80% of the 1,400 crop species grown globally, including food and plant-based industrial products, require animal pollination. According to new research, common air contaminants in urban and rural areas may limit insects’ ability to pollinate crops and wildflowers. Humans and all terrestrial ecosystems would perish without pollinators.
